Family Education
Family Education offers a variety of programs to provide support and parenting education to families in a caring and non-judgmental environment. For more information about all available programs click HERE.
Family Connections comprises three distinct sub programs, each designed to help strengthen or preserve healthy relationships between parents and children, increase family functioning, and provide family support and assistance during periods of crisis. We work together with the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD), Child & Youth Mental Health, and Fraser Valley Aboriginal Children and Family Services Society (FVACFSS). The life skills and education courses aim to enable clients to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of adaption and integration. The purpose is to provide clients with knowledge and skills necessary for successful living in a new environment. For more information about all available programs click HERE.

Get ready for a season of sunshine, creativity, and community fun! Abbotsford CCRR invites families to enjoy Summer in the Park, a series of free outdoor events featuring engaging activities and crafts for children.
All events run from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Bring your little ones, connect with other families, and make the most of summer in Abbotsford’s beautiful parks!
Go Play Outside utilizes the power of play to connect community through accessible arts, heritage, culture, and recreation programming. The program provides free drop-in activities in parks throughout Abbotsford, encouraging participation from all ages and abilities. Go Play Outside also hosts community organizations, artists, and recreational partners.

‘In the Know’ provides expert speakers on topics important to families who are parenting a child or youth with a mental health and/or substance use challenge and/or those working to support the mental health of children and youth. Watch an ItK video from our library or join an online discussion with other families to connect and learn. Online ItK discussions are facilitated by Parents in Residence and hosted monthly for families to join. Visit the Family Smart website to check for upcoming online discussions and support groups for parents and caregivers with children ages 0-25.
FVCDC receives provincial funding to provide these services, therefore, services are 'free' and also accessible through designated interpreters. You can make a referral for your child by completing an online referral form or contacting FVCDC.

Parent Support Services Society of BC is a provincial organization founded in 1974 and incorporated as a Society on January 22nd, 1976 as “British Columbia Parents In Crisis Society”. The name changed officially to Parent Support Services Society of BC on June 06, 2001. Parent Support Services Society of BC's Mission is to support the well-being of all families and children by empowering those in a parenting role through community connections, research, education, and advocacy. Parent Support Services Society of BC offers both online and in-person parenting support groups (multiple languages), at different times of the day. Please note that the Support Groups are not drop-in programs. Registration is required.
Parenting Support Groups are free, anonymous, and confidential self-help groups providing parents and caregivers with a safe space to share their stories, build communities, learn new skills, receive emotional support and discover new services and resources.
