We are excited to share the latest updates, events, and resources available to support our youngest learners. Our commitment to nurturing, stimulating, and exciting learning environments remains steadfast, and we are thrilled to see our students' growth and development.
Highlights of the Month:
- Movie day and Info Fair: Join us for a screening of 'Toy Story' and treat your little ones to a day of adventure and laughter. Before enjoying the movie, caregivers can explore our Community Information Fair, where valuable resources for early childhood services will be available. This event is FREE for families/caregivers with children from birth to 8 years old. Due to limited seating, registering with a ticket is required for all attendees. - Nature Thursday StrongStart: Starting April 3rd, all StrongStart sessions will take place in local parks. Join us for Nature Thursdays, where we invite you to deepen your connection with nature by exploring the diverse landscapes and hidden treasures of Abbotsford’s parks. Together with your children, we will discover various habitats, engage our senses, and embrace the wonders of the outdoors through play and exploration. - Drop-In Programs: Our drop-in programs continue to thrive, offering a welcoming space for parents and children to engage in play-based learning. Check out our schedule for upcoming sessions HERE.
- Cultural Nights: The Early Years Department of the Abbotsford School District is excited to participate in monthly Cultural Nights at the Abbotsford Indigenous Centre, offering Early Learning activities. These events feature Pow Wows and other cultural activities, providing a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together and celebrate Indigenous culture. Next Event will be on Wednesday, April 16th, 2025.
Spotlight on Success: This month, we are proud to highlight the achievements of our Mother Goose Program at Sweeney Neighbourhood Centre. The Mother Goose Program teaches parents rhymes and songs allowing participants to build on their strengths and learn new skills. This program is for caregivers with babies ages 0-18 months. Registration by email is required earlylearning@abbyschools.ca.
